Abstract

The research forum provides 11ew insight on various perspectives on (future) teachers' professional competencies. Research on (future) teachers building upon the competence paradigm has become quite influential in the last few years, especially in the frame of large-scale (international) studies. The research forum will present various theoretical frameworks and constructs developed from three projects followed by four commentaries, which discuss the approaches described and enrich them by own frameworks. The research forum is positioned to promote the discussion on how Eastern and Western approaches can learn from each other.
